Interested to be a tutor in the comfort of your own home?

Hiring: 
Preschool, Primary & Secondary Level Home Tutors 
Any subject
Long -term commitment on Part Time or Full Time basis

I am looking for commited tutors to join our company as a home-based tutor.

I am an ex-school teacher with a young toddler and understand the need for parents to spend more quality time with their children while still being able to contribute to the family’s finances.

For others, you may be looking for a job which allows more personal time for yourself to try out hobbies and different activities.

Although I have been operating my own home-based centre for quite some time, I am looking to work with new partners to set up an island-wide network of tutors.

The following is the criteria and what we have to offer:

  1. Criteria
    1. Current or ex-school teacher (NIE-trained) teaching English, Mathematics, Chinese and/or Science. Art teachers are also welcome if you are willing to work with preschoolers & lower primary students.
                                                              i.      At least 3 years teaching experience in schools.
                                                            ii.      Willing to teach subjects outside your specialization if demand requires (training will be provided).
                                                          iii.      Willing to produce teaching materials to replace or supplement existing assessment books in the market.
* Current school teachers can opt to have their pay in cash without CPF.

    1. Degree holders of academic subjects (Mathematics, English/Literature, Chinese and Science)
                                                              i.      Have passion to help students score well
                                                            ii.      Willing to undergo training (may not be in academic area; e.g. 3G abacus)
                                                          iii.      Willing to teach subjects within your specialization
                                                          iv.      Willing to produce teaching materials to replace or supplement existing assessment books in the market.

    1. Teachers with Diploma in Pre-school teaching English, Mathematics and/or Chinese. Art teachers are also welcome if you are willing to work with preschoolers & lower primary students.

    1. A-level or Diploma holders (any subject)
                                                              i.      Have passion to teach and interact with students
                                                            ii.      Willing to undergo training (may not be in academic area; e.g. 3G abacus)
                                                          iii.      Diploma in art related courses are welcome if you are willing to work with preschoolers & lower primary students.
                                                          iv.      Willing to produce teaching materials to replace or supplement existing assessment books in the market.

    1. Have an air-conditioned study room or a well-ventilated dining area which is able to accommodate yourself and a maximum of 6 students.
OR
Willing to travel to students’ house within your vicinity
OR
Teach at an appointed classroom (rented).

    1. Have relatives or helper or nanny to look after your own children during lessons if they are younger than 10 years old.
    2. Able to commit fixed hours every week.
    3. Can in groups of 3 – 6 students.
    4. Willing to commit for at least two years (preferably long-term arrangement).

    1. Flexible working hours (pre-agreed hours).
    2. Regular monthly pay, additional commission if classes are full and CPF contribution.
    3. Additional bonus if you are willing to start short school holiday programs or intensive exam revision classes.
    4. Teachers with air-conditioned study rooms/dining area will be given an additional allowance to cover utility bills if air-conditioners will be used during lessons.
    5. Option to join as partner in recruiting/training new tutors.
    6. No lessons on Public Holidays (replacement lessons will be arranged by individual teachers).
    7. Only teach 48 weeks a year (12 weeks x 4 terms).
    8. Paid annual leave (4 weeks).
    9. Marketing, advertising and recruitment of students all done by company (no admin or paperwork other than updating student attendance online).
    10. No capital required (except for your time and effort).
    11. All stationery and books used in class will be paid for by the company. Whiteboard will be provided (mounted at your study room or dining room). For teachers who wish to have aesthetically-pleasing glass whiteboards, you may need to top up the difference to get one installed.
All printing of worksheets will also be done by the company at no cost to the teacher (worksheets must be submitted 1 week before the lesson for printing).
    1. Payment of fees all made direct to company (no handling of any monetary administration except for parents who wish to pay by cash).
    2. Work from the comfort of your own home.

  1. How it works
    1. Interested teacher signs up.
    2. Discussion on pay and working hours.
    3. Teacher provides detailed CV for advertising/recruitment purposes.
    4. Confirmation and signing of contract.
    5. Teacher needs to provide teaching materials (or use ready materials from different publishers). ***
    6. Teacher needs to plan syllabus for the year (SoW by week).
    7. Company will recruit students and form classes. 
    8. Teachers will be informed of start date of new classes and given name list.
    9. Teachers will conduct lessons and update students’ attendance online (can be done weekly or twice a week).
    10. Fees will be collected on termly basis by main company. For parents who wish to pay by cash, teachers will need to help collect the fees direct from parents first.
    11. Teachers will need to fill out Feedback Form to Parents on monthly basis for individual students (can be done along the way during lessons and given to parents at the end of the month).
    12. Teachers might need to join ad-hoc trainings or meetings.

*** A copy of all teaching materials used in class must be forwarded to company for vetting and printing. All work produced while employed under the company belongs to the company. However, teachers who are able to produce good materials which can replace ready materials (such as assessment books) will be paid separately for their work to be used as a general resource for all teachers under the company.
